There are 2 types of charges you will incur for complete access to the Chakra Chat WhatsApp API solution

1. Chakra Platform Fee 👉 Chakra Paid Subscription Plans
2. Meta Charges for template and service messages 👉 Meta Message Rates
3. Meta charges for Calling API charges

Chakra Subscription Pricing

• Chakra Subscription Paid Plan enabled your account to access all the Chakra Chat Features (including Chat Dashboard, Chatbots, AI Chatbot, Campaigns, Leads, etc). Let's take the Starter Plan and understand

1. 10,000 Template Messages/month - This is the allowed limit to number of templates messages that can be sent in the Starter Paid Plan. Please note, every template messages is charged by Meta and it's not included in Chakra Chat Paid Subscription Plan
2. (No longer Free by Meta and No longer Unlimited on Chakra. Tier Limits apply, For Growth plan 15k service messages (earlier session messages) are part of the plan) Unlimited Session Messages - Session messages are free-form, non-template messages sent within a 24-hour "customer service window" that opens when a user messages a business. This is basically messages exchanged on Chat. Read more about this here
3. Pro-rated @ $0.001 per template message after 10000 messages - If your account sends a higher number of template messages than the prescribed limit in your Chakra Subscription Paid Plan, a pro-rated charge is applicable at this rate on top of your standard Chakra Paid Plan Subscription Value.

Example: If you are in Starter plan and send 12,000 template messages in a month. Your account has sent 2,000 messages over the prescribed limit of the Plan. So, a pro-rated charges on these excess message count (2,000) @ $0.001 = $2 is added to your base Subscription Plan charge of $12.49.

1. ** whatsapp template message charges to be paid directly to Meta ** Any template message send is charged by Meta as per their standard rate card and is billed directly to Meta*. Check the WhatsApp Template Message Rate Card for country wise specific rated.

Messages Types and Charges

Service Messages: Free-form responses to user-initiated inquiries, such as customer support replies or FAQs. Such Replies are sent to users within a 24-hour window (also known as the Customer Service Window - CSW) after the user's last message to your business.
Service Messages are also charges by meta from 1st October 2026. The first 1000 messages for a connect API number is free.
Service messages were always FREE with NO limits until 30 September 2026.

Free Entry Point (FEP) Service Messages: Messages initiated via the click-to-WhatsApp icon in the Facebook page or CTWA ads, Meta does not charge messaging fees for customer interactions in a 72-hour window.

Template Messages: Template messages are pre-approved, structured message formats that businesses use to initiate conversations with users who have opted in to receive them. There are various categories of template messages, e.g., Marketing, Utility, Authentication, etc. Template messages are always CHARGED. Check the Meta’s Rate Card for Template Messages
